<p>
	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	Anyone have any luck getting these phones configured against Kazoo?
</p>

<p>
	I've got the 78xx registered and placing outbound calls, but the phone responds to any incoming SIP messages (e.g. BYEs) with 404s after the call sets up.
</p>

<p>
	The 69xx isn't registering, and that's probably a more fundamental issue with my XML config. I was hoping it would be basically the same as the 78xx config, but it looks like there are some difference in how they select user@realm from the config options.
</p>

<p>
	Documentation on these things is close to nonexistent.

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	Do I have to say more? Akuvox... Yah, the R26C with my T58a are not behaving.
</p>

<p>
	When the doorbell rings the T58 displays a black place holder for the video, but the video stream is not visible until the call is answered
</p>

<p>
	looking at the sip capture, the Akuvox video stream is there , its the t58 which is not displaying it at the ringing stage.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Yealink has a new ROM 58.85.0.5 (up from 58.84)<br />
	When upgrading, Kazoo will "downgrade it back to the older firmware.
</p>

<p>
	So, I deleted the 58 in Kazoo, did a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, and added the 58 as a SIP device on Kazoo NOT by selecting from the device list. then placed the sip credentials in the 58 and manually registered it.    Just like I did with the Akuvox.
</p>

<p>
	I tested again and same results.

<p>
	Any ideas?!

<p>
	During KazooCon, Yealink and Polycom both promoted their sound cancellation features. I decided to do some testing on these features to see just how effective they are. I thought I'd share my results and testing methodologies with you all.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-size:20px;">Testing Methodology</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	I created an audio file that included music, conversations, kids playing and dogs barking. I've included it here for you as TestBackground.wav.
</p>

<p>
	Then, I made custom configuration profiles for each setting I wanted to test. Yealink only has 4 (Off, 1, 2  and 3). While Polycom says there's no limit to the size of the variable you can use in their threshold. I noticed that 8 was the default level. And after searching around I found some people setting it as high as 150. So, I used 8, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 for my tests. For each of the profiles, I also changed the line name so that I could insure that my custom config was applying correctly. On the polycoms, I had to include my entire account reg line to do this, so I've stripped that data out. But, otherwise, you can download the custom files I used below as well.
</p>

<p>
	I played the sound at my computer and put the phone about 12' away and 4' down from my speakers. I don't have a decibel meter or anything, but the speakers were almost all the way up. And I'd say that the music was very loud, the conversations sounded like being in an extremely busy convention center, the kids sounded like they were in my office playing and the dog was about as loud as if it was barking in my face. If that helps... Very loud that is to say.
</p>

<p>
	Then I made a callflow that dumped to just playing silence and setup call recording to capture the results.
</p>

<p>
	After doing this I noticed that every single test category failed to completely mask the background sounds at the very high level I initially set them at. So, I also did another round for both phones on their highest cancellation level and a lower background noise level.
</p>

<p>
	My test devices were a Polycom VVX410 and a Yealink T53
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>Results</strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	I have to say, even as a Yealink guy, I was very impressed with the Polycoms. And, less so with the Yealinks. I struggled to notice really any difference with the Yealink acoustic shield on vs off and certainly could find almost no difference between the different levels. There doesn't appear to be any down side to enabling the cancellation on either of the phone, even at the highest levels the voice didn't sound distorted. However, I did notice that at higher levels, the Polycoms sound like they are muted when the operator isn't talking. Is that a good or a bad thing? I'll let you decide for yourself, but I like it personally. I've included my test result recordings here as well so you can listen to them it you'd like.
</p>

<p>
	When I tested at lower background volume levels, I did notice that the T53 did perform better than I expected even with the acoustic shield off. This might be due to the new microphones that they were talking about at the convention as well. But again, I struggled to notice any difference between acoustic shield being off and on.
</p>

<p>
	At the end of the day, as a Yealink guy, this VVX 410 is staying on my desk and setup with Acoustic Fence &amp; threshold set to 200.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>A Few Notes</strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	I'd say the best test hands down was the VVX 410 with softer background noise and a threshold of 200. But, even then, if you listen carefully, you can still hear my kids a little bit. 200 isn't the maximum threshold. I wonder if it would get even better at a higher level? I'd be interested to know if anyone tries it.
</p>

<p>
	Acoustic Fence seems to be supported since F/W 5.3 if enabled by provisioning. However, the setting is not available in the UI in any version that's supported on the provisioner. I upgraded to the newest F/W through the web interface on the phone. After that, I could access the setting, but only in the phone's menus, not via the WebGUI.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Hope you find this valuable! If someone wants to duplicate my testing, I'd love to see if you find similar results. I've included everything you need to fully duplicate the test here.

<p>
	So I have the Video Codecs setup in the devices on the Production system. I also have the Zoiper Softphone setup with the proper codec.
</p>

<p>
	I try a Video call, but it's a no go. I Don't have another YEalink T58V to test with yet, so I am not sure if that would work.
</p>

<p>
	Is Video turned on in production? Does anyone have it running on their own clusters? Does it work well?

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	I have a customer who I'm moving over to 2600hz, and one of their needs is a keypad door buzzer.
</p>

<p>
	This customer also has a few offices they rent out in their building and they would like them to be connected to the doorbuzzer system ie Algo, Cyberdata.
</p>

<p>
	Any idea how I could set this up with the other offices who aren't on 2600hz or even the same network (each tenant has their own fios or cable internet).
</p>

<p>
	Thanks,
</p>

<p>

<p>
	Hi guys, Im being told by my developers that video calling <u>between accounts</u> does not work because of freeswitchs loopback does not support video which is used with Kazoo. Is this true ? Is there a solution to make video calls work between to different accounts within the same cluster ?
</p>

	Hi Experts,
</p>

<p>
	I want to configure the line keys on Cisco SPA525G2 as speed dial keys on my phone, when I hard press the line key for 5 seconds, it does allow me to configure that but it vanishes when I reboot the phone, I have tried to go in and play with settings under advance provisioner but nothing seems to help. Can anyone help here please? I also want to be able to attach a side card and make that as speed dial as well with this phone.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks!

<p>
	Hello all.
</p>

<p>
	I'm setting up a small law office who are moving over to VoIP for the first time. They are sold on the quality of the VoIP network but want to make sure that the phones
</p>

<p>
	themselves will have a high level of voice quality, particularly when using the speakerphone for conference calls (small conference room).
</p>

<p>
	I've spoken with a few offices who are using the Yealink T46S and they love it. Does anyone on the forum have an opinion on the T46S vs let's say a Polycom?

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:16px;text-align:left;">
	Our customer says they no longer see caller id name while dialing internal extension on their new Polycom VVX 600, only shows once party answers.  This one user upgraded from 400 to 600.  Worked for them when they used a Polycom VVX 400 and still works between all other user's VVX 400's.  They would like to see the name when calling an internal person's extension but it only shows extension number until the party answers, then it shows both extension and name.  When dialing internal extension from VVX 400 to another VVX 400, it shows fine as it always had.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:16px;text-align:left;">
	We tested on VVX 500 and it does not show the name either, until party answers.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:16px;text-align:left;">
	Firmware used 5.4.6
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:16px;text-align:left;">
	Seems, according to Polycom Community post in 2013, that this is something that Polycom will not be including any longer on the newer model 500 and 600 and we will have to request this feature via our Polycom reseller.  <br /><br />

<p>
	Hey All - wondering if anyone has come across this one yet.  By default, 2600 is set for **+ext to be the "call direct to voicemail" option.  On older firmware versions of Yealink this worked fine.  After updating to 35.83.0.50, the dial pad now does an IME style thing where it cycles through, so if you hit ** you end up getting a . instead.  We've tried modifying the ime.text (language) file to no avail.  Got a ticket in with Yealink because at the very least this seems poorly executed or at least should have a config option.  Not sure what firmware version the hosted platform runs either.
</p>

<p>
	Anyone run across this or have a fix not involving downgrading firmware or manually changing that star code on all clients?  Thanks in advance!

<p>
	So I got a note from a customer stating :
</p>

<p>
	"<em><span style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#222222; font-size:12.8px; text-align:start">Today, Nickie is out so I was picking up her calls, and I noticed that when I do answer her line directly the actual phone number disappears. On my phone, it shows that I picked up her </span></em><span style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#222222; font-size:12.8px; text-align:start"><em>line,</em></span><em><span style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#222222; font-size:12.8px; text-align:start"> but doesn’t give the number and on her phone, it just shows that her call was picked up by me. Is there a way to get that number?"</span></em>
</p>

<p>
	This customer has BLF of the USER's Presence ID's on all phones. So a caller presses 0 to reach the "Front Desk". All the phones have a BLF for the Front Desk which Flashes RED. User presses the BLF key flashing RED, the call gets connected. But the Display shows the User's Extension, instead of the Outside caller's phone number...This happens with Call Park as well *31 etc...
</p>

<p>
	Dug around a bit and found a Yealink doc on Call's (see attached).
</p>

<p>
	The default is "FROM" in the RED Box picture. For the phones that Have "FROM" in the Caller ID Source, the *31 or extension dialed is what shows on the phone.
</p>

<p>
	I changed it to Preference, and the CLID of the outside caller displays on the user's phone. When pressing the BLF to pickup someone else's phone, as well as using the Call Park *31 keys....
</p>
