  1. So as we all know Slack is growing by leaps and bounds in the office space. They are doing voice now internally it's still in beta but with my distributed team located globally we have been on conference calls for hours at a time.

I was starting to think that if 2600 could be integrated with slack it would sure leap frog the clown central and the 4+4 x 4+4 phone companies :-)

    1. Companies who use slack can use the slack internally as they normally do.

    2. If slack is integrated then emailed notifications can go into your own direct message or a slack channel to a group

Please see this article which is Slack / Clarify and Twilio

    Can we do Slack / Clarify + 2600hz ?

www.clarify.io would be good for vm transcriptions !

     http://clarify.io/blog/making-recording-transcribing-phone-calls-slack/

    3. If 2600 was integrated and we can add extensions to Slack Users and a dialer we are golden. True cloud PBX with mobile and legacy support !

If and when the Real Time dashboard is available with lightweight gui (smartpbx)

It would be like Sendhub or Aircall.io but with WebRTC / mobile and legacy phones.

So to Recap My idea of a awesome product would be :

    1. SmartPBX (Monster ) with Browser setup Aircall.io / Sendhub Aircall has a nice interface but don't really support SIP they are built on Plivo. Sendhub has WebRTC and SMS but lack white able and provisioning Legacy phones they are built on 2600hz.

    2. Business Text messaging, Heywire is what we resell,  If this was integrated, it would be better for archiving and managing multiple DID's

Business case for this: Real Estate agent lists 5 homes for sales right now they use their cell phones 1 DiD on 5 homes for sales. They have no analytics no measurement.

If they had our super duper Business Texting solution they can provide 5 separate DiD's and track them. Have the auto responder like (Heywire) send a potential prospective home buyer get the relevant. "The home at 55 Smith street is a 5 bedroom 3 bath for $599k. Thank you for contacting John Doe of John Doe Realty."

Giving the power the end user to see how many calls came in per day, with call recording / text messaging is powerful. BI (Business Intelligence) is key the more analytics we can give the more informed they are.

Yes if you ask any Realtor what do they use they will tell you it's just my mobile phone number.

Give them the power of this solution, and make it easy for them to use then see what happens !

    3. Faxing: yes 2600 fax inbound works like a charm ! The outbound is a different story. I know that anything over the internet really will suck especially fax. But a fairly reliable Desktop / Legacy or a mobile app to TDM Fax would work. I have setup Brooktrout Fax Boards (Servers) so that does bridge IP to Analog. But making this integrated would be key.

Everything integrated / Full UC pick your own device.

What I am getting at is that as business is moving at the speed of light, with cloud and SaaS, we should be able to deliver as partners to our clients solutions that say bring in any device legacy or browser and you have everything at your fingertips. Remote and Global workers can get hired on have Office 365 + Box or Egnyte for storage + Slack + 2600 all delivered from a browser.

I know in this Telecom Journey there is a lot of work to be done, and we are doing our part as well, sales sales sales ! But telling a customers bring any device is still questionable.

We have to praise Darren and Patrick as none of us would be here if it weren't for these two guys and the entire staff at 2600 and for having the passion for Telecom !!

Thanks for the awesome service and support 2600hz Team

  2. HI There,

So my desk phone has been a W52 for 2 years. It's a decent phone, battery life on the original cheap Chinese made batteries suck.  I swapped them out for Energizer 700mah rechargable batteries so that improved it a bit. The do have 1200 or 2000mah batteries  also which should in theory last longer.

The one caveat i have seen with the W52 even with the latest and greatest firmware is that when i am doing a speed dial it will fail or sometimes the gui crashes on it.  My phone is 2 years old and it is the first gen.

They have since released a new version of the W52 and Polycom just released a cordless handset.

  3. I haven't uses this yet but I have used Digium G100's in place as a bridge.

Depending on what interface you have, The G100 is a good little box very solid and works like a charm. These run about $1k. Used they go for about $500. Yes you can use any 3rd party solution or a Asterisk server with fxo / fxs cards. I have used this scenario with other hosted PBX vendors.

  4. But then we are charged for another line, i.e means we have to charge the customer. This is not something that sells like hot cakes but when we have migrated people off of key based phone systems or old nortel PBX's they sure love that legacy feel.

I lost 2 deals as kazoo was not able to mimic the key based system. Asterisk along with Yeahlink phones would have solved the problem but,  i sure don't want to run or managed physical PBX's any more.

  5. If your clients are willing to spend the money use Voicecloud.com They have machine transcriptions and human. I know the guys over there. But the human transcription folks are overseas. The run the vm through a machine first then the humans go and correct it. This is about 90-95% accurate.

You can use Vitelity.com 's Myscribbit.com. The only thing that sux is the end user gets this go awfully looking frog image along with the mp3 sound file. You could run that through a mail server and strip off all that but what a pain in the A!@%.

I haven't really had clients ask for it or ask for transcriptions.. I use myscribbit internally or four our own sales line.

It's cool to have and way better than google voice. But it's about 85% accurate.

  6. So I have some clients that have asked for this feature.

Where they have 1 phone setup with one main DiD for their company. But they are starting a new business. We get them a new DiD but they don't want to pay for another Line.

I know what he is trying to do ,as some legacy PBX's allowed you to hit 1 and it used LIne 1 to dial out of that DiD and press Line 2 to use it's outbound caller id and so on.

Is there a way to do this on Kazoo ?

    Thanks.

  7. So for example a company has a client has marketing goin on for a specific area cdoe or area codes, they can route thos calls based on the prefix. here in silicon valley we have 5 legacy prefixes with 2 new overlay numbers, all of these can be built in so you can route based on prefix.

so if some calls from san francisco i.e 415 area code then route those calls to a specific ring group internally. this helps in marketing
  8. A feature that would be nice is to have caller id based routing, i.e any call from xxx area code or number goes to a specific ring group or person.

Also it can be used as a call filter for junk calls. I have had customers complain that they do get junk calls when they have a DiD that is life and active and the one way I have set this up is to put a menu so it prevents the robo calls from going through as robo calls can't press 1.

I have used this on traditional PBX's and it works great. So just wanted to see if this could be a possible feature others would like or if anyone has figured out a way on Kazoo,

    Thanks,
