I wanted to confirm a few things on this topic. I see from the pinned thread that this is a feature request (company directory as a PBX feature), but in the meantime, what are my options?
We pretty much exclusively use Polycom, so I'm limiting myself to those options. So there are essentially two methods to get a directory on a Polycom - point the phone at an LDAP server or write out XML directory files and have the phone load those up.
On the first option (LDAP) what are my options in the Advanced Provisioner? I don't see it as a config option. I suspect this could be done by hosting supplemental config files, but I'm not sure how complicated that gets. There are multiple web frontends to add/edit LDAP entries.
The second option seems easier, as there is a specific config option in the Advanced Provisioner (although no explanation of file naming, etc.). I've not yet found it, but I'm sure someone out there has written a web app that lets you add directory entries and spit out xml files per-company or per-phone.
What are people currently doing?
Also where's more docs on the Advanced Provisioner? And any general docs on how to handle config overrides by having the phone pull additional configs from elsewhere?
