Joseph Watson Posted September 2, 2020 Report Posted September 2, 2020 I regularly watch the github repo for kazoo, and I just noticed that all of the 5.0 branches are now gone. A friend told me that he got an email from Patrick saying kazoo 5.0 will now be closed source. Is this true?
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted September 2, 2020 Administrators Report Posted September 2, 2020 No, it's not closed source. But we have paused on the public stuff to try and finish our app exchange. We are 10 years into this company and the entire point of the company was the app exchange, and it's still not done, so we're finishing that before we finalize and release 5.x
Joseph Watson Posted September 2, 2020 Author Report Posted September 2, 2020 Well that's good to hear, but what about us that are doing active development in 5.0 and trying to get PRs pushed and stuff. What happens now?
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted September 2, 2020 Administrators Report Posted September 2, 2020 I would hang on to those changes, or you can submit them, but we have to break up all the apps into individual repos anyway because that's how the app exchange works, so it may require some work to backport once we've got everything the way we want it. (Also, to be clear, I don't know what you mean by 5.0 branches - we've only had master which was 5.x)
Joseph Watson Posted September 2, 2020 Author Report Posted September 2, 2020 that commit for master was MAy 14th. I know stuff has been committed since
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted September 2, 2020 Administrators Report Posted September 2, 2020 Nothing has been reversed if that's what you mean. There may be waiting pull requests not accepted yet.
