V4.2 BLF on mailbox via *98 + mailbox number

Recommended Posts

I have a new Kazoo 4.2 Install and am trying to get BLF on mailbox via *98 + mailbox number working.

I assume that I could use this feature to see if a voice mail message has been left in another users voice mailbox.

If User 1002 has a BLF key for *981001, when a message is left for User 1001 the VM light on User 1001's phone comes on, but the BLF key on 1002 does not change.

Am I mis-understanding how this should work ?

Hello @brourk . So the BLF works with "Presence ID"'s. If you are using Advanced Call Flows, you can see that in the User

and Device.

The BLF also works with the Park Slots such as *31 (park slot 1). There isn't a GUI interface for those, it just works when they are used.

IF you a are more of a API / Programmer type, below are references on Presence and other helpful information.

I took a look at docs.2600hz.com at the Presence section, and don't see a mention in that for Voicemail boxes. https://docs.2600hz.com/supported/applications/crossbar/doc/presence/

Both the User https://docs.2600hz.com/supported/applications/crossbar/doc/users/

and

Devices https://docs.2600hz.com/supported/applications/crossbar/doc/devices/

have the presence_id in the Schema,

While

Voicemail https://docs.2600hz.com/supported/applications/crossbar/doc/voicemail/

does NOT have the Presence_ID capability.

Hope that helps out with your Kazoo Journey!
