  1. Here is my experience.  I let the device get the defaults from Advanced Provisioner at both the account settings and the device level.  Reset T46G to default, autoprovision, and get a clean configuration.  Provision from http://p3.zswitch.net.
    *.s.zswitch.net
    us-central.p.zswitch.net

I then go into my mikrotik firewall create an address list blocking the us-central IP on the forward chain and completely disable the phone.  It will timeout, and then display invalid account because it is not getting the other servers back from DNS.  If I manually setup a second outbound proxy to us-east the phone and run the same test with the firewall the phone will almost immediately disconnect stop trying on us-central and failover to us-east.  I can also place a call within 10-15 seconds.

So how do I make the default configuration work without adding a second outbound proxy?  I assumed the NAPTR and SRV combo setup would force the phone to get the priority servers based on the main address you configured (us-central) however, using the default zswitch DNS and realm and advanced provisioner I am unable to fail over this T46G automatically when I block its connection to the single us-central proxy.
  2. Yes, I can test this out no problem.  Also, I found an issue where the provisioner is not setting the second outbound proxy on my Yealink T46G's.  It will say that the correct setting is going to be inherited for the second server, but it will not show up.  It will also not configure it if you manually enter the second outbound proxy, versus letting it inherit.

Not sure if that was on your bug list for this next release.  It requires us to manually update the outbound proxy in each phone, which negates using the provisioner for saving time.  I just tested this again last night.
  3. Also, I did fix the branding issue.  Under the field "Domain Name" I was using my domain name, not my portal domain (CNAME) name.  This was not clear.  This is an example of something I wish I could fix, whether it be via editing community articles or contributing back to the code base.  I would have been happy to edit the branding article in the community to make this more clear.  There are other examples of documents that could be improved.  This is why I was hoping to get a user wiki or something we have access to improve.

I appreciate the helpful documents, FAQs, etc.. I just wish we could somehow improve them as a community.  I suspect you guys are too busy to be building out articles and documents all the time.
  4. This is still happening.  I walked my account rep through this issue earlier in the week.  Open Accounts Manager settings in the app store, change access to specific user, choose yourself, logout and log back in, you will not be able to access the account manager app.

Seems like a bug.  If you can't reproduce, I will create a video but my account rep reproduced it earlier this week over the phone.
  5. That is great news on the Fax ATA settings.  I was hoping someone would post their best practices on those.  It seems you are already working on it.  Awesome.

I have been very happy with the T37 email faxing features built into Smart PBX.

I think the HTTPS based ATA's are really where the community needs to be going in terms of using an on-premise based fax machine.
  6. I think your first point is great.  The more people contributing the better.  It would also be nice if people could earn these credits for other things besides specifically contributing code.  I want to impact the community, however, I may not be qualified to write code for Kazoo.  At the same time I may be able to provide helpful posts, documentation, and/or code snippets (think pivot) that overall improve the community.  Perhaps these non-code related contributions might be worth some support credit or bug fixes in the future if you think that makes sense.  In any case I think you are on the right track.
  7. Are there any limitations in our business using the app names in branding or marketing material?

Can we use terms like Smart PBX, Pivot, PBX Connector etc.. on any public facing website or sales material we create?  Since we can't rename or control what they show up as in the web interface I would prefer to use them as-is.  I just want to make sure that 2600hz will not be upset or consider these terms trademarked etc.

    Please advise.
  8. I think Github would work fine for me.  I don't typically use Github and I tend to be more of a hobby programmer and copy/paste/hack kind of guy so it would be best if there were at least a couple sample submissions so I could get an idea on how things should be included and formatted etc..

I think another important piece is having a big obvious link somewhere in the community to this location so other people get involved.  For me Github is fine, however, it might intimidate other folks and it would likely not get used if it was not searchable in the community or at the very least prominently showcased.

When I read my response, I think the important detail is having it searchable in the community so more people get involved, but I am just guessing.
  9. Thanks.  I will consider submitting inclusions if necessary.  I have mostly been able to find API documentation between the Google Dev group and the different project related websites.

I was thinking more about community related configurations documentations. For example: How to properly configure a Yealink or Bria phone with DNS-NAPTR or How to create a simple pivot script that enables specific functionality that gets requested.

Addtionally, I will be posting things from time to time in the forums on how to do something specific and it would be nice if it was open for users to improve and versioned.  Reading a thread on how to setup something and then having to read 20 more threads with improvements or bug fixes is more work than a versioned user submitted how to article.
  10. Is there currently any kind of wiki or user contributed documentation system setup?  This forum is helpful and great, however, it would also be great if we centralize our independent documentation of configurations, best practices, scripts, innovations etc.. in some kind of wiki.

I have seen members post good ideas, work arounds, and best practices in the forum.  However, threaded conversations are not ideal.  Is there any plan to create a community driven documentation system like a wiki?

If I spend a long time testing and creating something I am typically going to be documenting it on my end.  It seems like this documentation would be better served if it were shared with the entire community.
  11. I switched from my demo account to the production account and some of the apps I have enabled are not working.  I click on branding and the accounts manager app and the they do not function at all.  Smart PBX will always work.  I am not sure if this has to do with the fact that I have limited access to these apps to specific users or not.
If I disable and re-enable the app, I can access it again.  Soon after it will stop working.

I have also uploaded logo images and set preferences in the branding application and it is not working, do you need to turn this feature on?  It appears to not be working at all.

I was also not able to get the *.s. outbound faxing DNS check to show a green check mark.  I have manually queried this record using nslookup and randomly generated 23243.s.vcspbx.net hostnames and the MX record gets returned correctly.  I am wondering if the logic on the check is bugged.

I have tested these issues using Chrome, Edge, and IE 11.  I will also clear all browser data in all 3 browsers and try to access the Apps and they will not open.  They will only function after I enable/re-enable the app.
