Marie Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 We have a banking customer who is asking about security. I need help explaining security with the 2600Hz pbx service. All I know is that port 7000 needs to be open for audio.Customer asks: Any one else have any banks that use cloud pbx service? Just curious, it seems that due to security and data breaches that we would need to make sure of the security on the entity that is connecting to us. Of course I am assuming that it is a direct connection or an open port of some kind.
Karl Stallknecht Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 You should probably setup RTP encryption for this customer. Regular SIP calls can be hijacked incredibly easily (as demonstrated at KazooCon last year).
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted June 26, 2015 Administrators Report Posted June 26, 2015 2600hz does offer MPLS connectivity services, but they are expensive. These are direct, secured lines to from our datacenter to your customer. The lines can cost between $500-2,000 a month and are based generally on distance to the local CO from each end (our datacenter and your customer), a link between the two COs, and speed. It is fairly common for connectivity to be done this way.
Marie Posted June 26, 2015 Author Report Posted June 26, 2015 Thank you Darren. Is there a list of ports that need to be opened?
