Marie Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 Just reaching out to see if anyone in the community is using or has a customer using Voicemail to Text. We have a customer who would like to have this option in the future. Any plans for 2600hz to add feature in the future? Thanks all,Marie
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted February 10, 2016 Administrators Report Posted February 10, 2016 We have no plans to add this because all the transcription services have been so awful frankly.
Karl Stallknecht Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 Out of curiosity why is it an option in the email branding templates then?
Administrators Darren Schreiber Posted February 10, 2016 Administrators Report Posted February 10, 2016 The software itself had it as a feature at one point, and that code is still there. We could remove it altogether I guess, but I keep hoping a new vendor will come along who is awesome, so I don't want to remove it yet.
Jesse Howard Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 We have had some success using Nuance (actually used Ditech who got bought by Nuance) but our expectations are low - there is usually enough context to figure out what is being said. Nuance does offer services where you can send it back and for a charge have a person transcribe it for you but that gets muddy with billback etc.
Rick Guyton Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 We always ask the client if they've ever actually used it before. If they have, they know how bad it is. and we say something like "we don't offer it because even goggle does it terribly. We figure if they can't get it done well, no one can". Most times they nod and agree, and move one. At that point we'll tell them if they really want it, they can use myscribbit.com for $5/month/mailbox and we'll help them set it up. NO ONE has taken us up on this.If they haven't used it before we tell them it's one of those things that sounds really awesome until you actually use it because it's so inaccurate. Then, we generally get the head nod and go down the same path. Still no takes thus far.We really like talking about myscribbit.com though. That way we aren't saying no. They are deciding it isn't worth it.
