Jean-Francois Charlebois
Hi guys, Im being told by my developers that video calling between accounts does not work because of freeswitchs loopback does not support video which is used with Kazoo. Is this true ? Is there a solution to make video calls work between to different accounts within the same cluster ? Thanks
safarov
Video via loopback is not supported. More detail in FreeSwitch mailing list, thread "Video across loopback". To get it working I see three options: 1) make FreeSwitch loopback video/fax media compatible; 2) not use FreeSwitch loopback for call between accounts; 3) change number types to local, then call between accounts will routed via upstream equipment. Jean-Francois Charlebois
Hi Great Thanks, Ill bring this up with my devs. I think the 3rd option would be the easiest no ? I believe removing loopback between accounts will screw up CDRs ? 2600Hz Employees mc_ Posted April 1, 2019 2600Hz Employees Report Share Posted April 1, 2019 Do your upstream carriers support video calls? Also what percentage of calls between accounts are requesting video? Generally speaking the hairpinning is to avoid upstream carrier charges to deliver the call back to your cluster. Jean-Francois Charlebois
Yes MC you are correct. This video issue if for one very big customer that has 100+ locations across canada but we need to build them separate in Kazoo accounts for many reasons and they love the Video calling feature. We where actually thinking of trunking one of our asterisk server to be the relay in and out since it supports video well. So our asterisk server becomes the 'provider'. Do you think that would work ?
Rally IP Admin
Maybe you can try to use trunk between subaccounts and route video calls through loopedback trunks.
