Thank you, your fear is appreciated. I like to live in the "DANGER ZONE!"

Advanced provisoner is great for "advanced users" if you're looking for something more GUI based, try using SMART PBX, you can configure softkeys and things with limited variations.

And the Forums are the best place I have found for feedback, The developers are always looking at them and answering questions while taking a lot of flak for promised features that haven't released yet

  2. Hey @sporkman,

I have a Polycom VVX 401 plugged in that within the Advanced Provisioner allows you to point the Contact Directory to your LDAP server:

Polycom has written an awesome guide on how to setup your own LDAP server using openLDAP, we host on an Amazon AWS server and point to url's as needed:
    http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/FAQ-Setup-an-openLDAP-server/td-p/75035

Your secondary option is to upload the data into each phone using a local directory:
    http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/FAQ-How-can-I-create-a-local-directory-or-what-is-the/td-p/8216

The ldap is worth while if your going to continue to update the directory live, just be advised the phones may take 10-15 mins to update the entries after you add new data.

    I hope this helps.

As far as Docs on the advanced provisioner most of your questions can probally be answered in the forum:

@SPC-Tim  ahh...So are these businesses in seperate Realms?  (I would guess so by "Account 1/2/3" but want to verify)

If they are in separate realms, does the BLF when you place an Account 2 in Park 1, show up

No, They are not on separate realms.

They are all on one account. We just setup our devices on the users differently:

    Company A - Line1 - Bob Company A

    Company B - Line 2 - Bob Company B

    Company C - Line 3 - Bob Company C

This allows users to keep extensions the same across multiple companies while using advanced call flows to dictate which line is ringing based on the DID of the company called.

But all 3 companies share the same park lines on 36 phones.

    Tim,

With the BLF of callparks. Was that separate buttons for separate accounts on the same phone?

Here is the setup: Yealink T46G and T46S

    Buttons 1-6:
    Account 1: Business 1
    -Extra Line
    Account 2: Business 2
    -Extra Line
    Account 3: Business 3
    -Extra Line

    Buttons 6-10 are:

    BLF>Account1> *31
    BLF>Account1> *32
    BLF>Account1> *34
    BLF>Account1> *35
    BLF>Account1> *36

    Yes,

But, if you didn't need additional changes from Advanced Provisioner, you could use Smart PBX GUI to do the Combo Keys... if you had Labels for the Parking. ;) Then you could use Smart PBX exclusively.

After much thought, I couldn't agree more, I think there needs to be a label field within the smart pbx:) .

I always thought Advanced provisioner was the end all be all, but after playing with the Smart PBX gui more I am beginning to appreciate it.

    hey guys,

Anyone know if there's a way to have BLF (when setup through SmartPBX) show up with the user label instead of the extension?

    Thanks.

In SmartPBX labeling keys is super limited to extensions.

Use advanced provisioner and you can for sure customize the label keys and there is a BLF command in the Combo Keys section.

  7. I have begun to experience when I reject the call on my cell phone, platform is still trying to reach out to me and continues to call me until it completes its 5 rings or whatever number I set it too.

Is there a solution to make the call end at that endpoint, or do we need just tell customers to let it ring through.

    My current setup is a:

Cellphone > Press One to accept > hang up or ingnore > Call still rings

    Is this normal behavior?

That can happen on the VVX 301 for 2 reason:

The phone is using a custom firmware from an old provider. (Ring Central and 8X8 are known for this) or the device failed to grab the config due to the bootrom.

If a general factory reset doesn't work, try using these to help you MAC reset and upgrade the firmware Directly from Polycom first.

And Silly me didnt look at the pictures first *Facepalm*  You also need to be on 4.1.3 to allow for auto provisioning using the GUI.

    http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html

This matrix shows you devices able to use 4.1.3. I know the VVX series is on there, but it looks like this phone was using 3.3.0 to pull the config
