Bob Welker Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Hello all, I have a customer who wants a different ringtone for internal call vs inbound external calls. He is using a VVX 400. I'm not sure how to do this in the new Monster UI. I appreciate your input! Thanks, Bob
Karl Stallknecht Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I'm pretty sure you can't do this (but I could be wrong).
2600Hz Employees Katie Orton Posted October 29, 2015 2600Hz Employees Report Posted October 29, 2015 Hi everyone, I agree that this would be very useful! This is currently possible on the backend, however it is not accessible in a user-friendly way yet. I've submitted this as an idea to our product team and we will let you know once we know when this is available.

Jeff Kuei Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 How do we access this on the backend?
Rick Guyton Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 For what it's worth, I do this all the time with my Yealinks. You can setup an group in the directory for internal numbers. Then, assign a different ring tone to that group. If it's just a single user, maybe it would make sense to switch him?Sorry, I don't use the polycoms anymore, so I don't know if the VVX can do this.
FASTDEVICE Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 From the Backend...to configure the "Alert-Info" header.Under Device | OptionsInternal Ringtones = <http://localhost>;info=InternalExternal Ringtones = <http://localhost>;info=ExternalI'm not that familiar with Polycom, but this works for most phone types.
100 -Trying Posted December 18, 2015 Report Posted December 18, 2015 Our experience is that 'Alert-Info' is not supported by all devices, so keep that in mind. The Gigaset Pro DE310/410/700/900 even are know to fail when you send Alert-Info headers. So this solution is only Brand/Model specific.
esoare Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I did this for a new client with 15 phones. I wonder if there is a Hosted LDAP service, so the Admin for the customer just has 1 location to update, versus the group on all the phones individually. I guess I could search, eh?
2600Hz Employees Aaron Gunn Posted October 21, 2016 2600Hz Employees Report Posted October 21, 2016 Hi All, Just wanted to update this thread with news that this ticket was approved and worked for 4.0. https://2600hz.atlassian.net/browse/K... is only for the API, I don't believe we've exposed it in the front end at this time. I'll check into see if it's possible to file a front end ticket. This will be available to you when your installation is upgraded to Kazoo 4.0.In the documentation, the relevant piece is below:Key Description Type Default Requiredringtones object {} falseringtones.external The alert info SIP header added when the call is from internal sources string(0..256) falseringtones.internal The alert info SIP header added when the call is from external sources string(0..256) false
FASTDEVICE Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Aaron,How does this differ from what I posted? The Alert-Info is already exposed in the UI.
Tuly Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 What FASTDEVICE posted works very good, it adds an alert info "internal' to the Sip Invite ( of course you need to have defined in your phone, Alert info internal witch ringtone should ring)
Rick Guyton Posted October 25, 2016 Report Posted October 25, 2016 Hey Aaron, can you please expand? I'm confused as well. Is there a new way to do it in 4.0? I'm about to deploy this en masse. But, I dont' want to do it if I'm going to have to re-do it in a month. Or if it would have been much simpler in 4.0.
2600Hz Employees Aaron Gunn Posted October 25, 2016 2600Hz Employees Report Posted October 25, 2016 I'm looking into this now, sorry for the delay.
Logicwrath Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Yes, this works. However, editing the device in "Advanced Callflows" to add the internal/external alert info will wipe out your device configuration in "Advanced Provisioner". Be prepared to re-configure every single device in provisioner that you make this adjustment on.I opened a new thread about it recently and did not see a response. I wish this would get fixed so I could implement it on accounts we already have configured and provisioned.
