  1. That does suck. I don't know What The Fhone was going on there. But, I could see how that'd leave a bad taste in your mouth. I'm glad you could get it working with your polys. And there's still time, we'll bring you over from the dark side. ;)
  2. Yealinks have a ton of remote control features. That and their XML app features and all the BLFs are why I'm so into them. Eventually we hope to be able to control the phones like we are onsite. The features are there, we just need to do some dev work to get it going. Anyhow, more directly, after you enable remote control on yealinks you can go to http://PhoneIPHere/screenshot and grab a screenshot.
  3. Here's an example with screenshots from the phones to help http://i.imgur.com/LZCUG2l.png
  4. I love the CSV idea and having a template name in the CSV would make onboarding a breeze. But I don't want to get feature greedy and delay that copy thing a day longer than necessary. :)
  5. I get that. Just curious. Every once in a while one of my clients will stumble on the call recording in the GUI and want to set it up. Right now I don't have a very good solution for storing them and making them available for the client to listen to. So it's not very fun to tell them it basically doesn't work. It'd be nice to be able to honestly be able to tell them that we are working towards being able to store those recordings into a cloud provider.
  6. Will we be able to store call recordings there too? The current method is kind of rough...
  7. Wait, can 2600hz dump faxes to google drive, dropbox, ect???
  8. Wow, very cool solution. I've never really neaded this solution before. But, I'm glad to have this one in my tool belt! Do you guys use any particular speaker with it? Or are you usually tieing into an existing speaker?
  9. No, I'm saying that if you're using a Fax over HTTPS solution, it probably wasn't invented by Vitelity. You are right there. Seems to be an AudioCodes innovation. In reality, you could probably just contact AudioCodes you could buy the same device/serviceI could be wrong, but my understanding is that you need to run AudioCodes software in your cluster. So those of us on the hosted platform at least can't... which is kind of cheating.Yes, yes it is cheating and I love it for that. :) Frankly if it's still this critical and in demand, perhaps 2600hz should sign up for the AudioCodes solution and implement it. +1 for that!
  10. whether that be an API, email or an HTTPS Fax deviceDarren, are you saying that there's an HTTPS fax device that's compatible with 2600hz? We use Vitelity almost exclusively as well because of the AudioCodes HTTPS fax device. If 2600hz has a similar device, I'm switching tomorrow. :)
  11. Also, one advantage the copy utility would have over an account wide phone model template is accounts with multi locations. multi locations accounts sometimes want different park numbers or different user BLFs. For example, Tempe will have Parks 101-108 then the receptionist on their BLFs, Peoria will have 201-208 and their receptionist, Tucson 301-309, ect, ect. If you implemented the copy utility then we'd just have to setup one phone for Tempe, one for Peoria and one for Tucson then copy, copy, copy.
  12. If the copy tool is only used for same make and model, no problem.  Sweet! Have the in the utility next week then? ;) In all seriousness, Karl uses dirty Polycoms, I use awesome Yealinks and some crazy people out there even use Ciscos. But, we all pretty much "Make" exclusive and we all pretty much deploy the same models across our networks. For example, I deploy all T27Ps with a few T46Gs here and there for execs or receptionists. But if in a 40 phone network, I only had to configure one T27 and one T46 and then copy, copy, copy. That would save us hours of work... Hours of mind numbingly tedious work. AND it'd be 100% accurately copied across whereas when we do it manually, we eventually mess up somewhere...
  13. :) Thanks Karl. I bought jitbit's macro recorder a few years ago and have been using it extensively for random little repetitive tasks ever since. Aaron, ya know, even an option to copy one phone's configuration over to another (less SIP creds) would be amazing, probably easier to code and possibly even more useful.
  14. Yea, in advanced provisioner, if you enter a new MAC it wipes the config you had on that phone previously for some reason. My previous topic was about the device going completely missing in advanced provisioner after changing the MAC. That's fixed atleast, you just get a blank config now.
  15. Could you guys please consider supporting Yealink sidecards? It'd be really nice if I could program these guys via the provisioner instead of having to do it manually on each phone. Thanks!
  16. I noticed that the provisioner seems to reset the configuration of a phone whenever you change the MAC. Even if you keep the same make/model. It kind of sucks to have to re-program all of the buttons just to swap a phone... Can we fix this please?
  17. I don't think Yealinks will provision via HTTPS yet either. The only allow for certain CAs by default and Godaddy isn't one of them... GeoTrust is though... hint, hint... ;)
  18. Has anyone generated a simple Word/PDF format training doc for end-user admin of SmartPBX? I was thinking about making one off of the user manuals off of here. But I thought I'd ask if anyone else had already done it if they'd mind sharing. Thanks!!
  19. We always ask the client if they've ever actually used it before. If they have, they know how bad it is. and we say something like "we don't offer it because even goggle does it terribly. We figure if they can't get it done well, no one can". Most times they nod and agree, and move one. At that point we'll tell them if they really want it, they can use myscribbit.com for $5/month/mailbox and we'll help them set it up. NO ONE has taken us up on this. If they haven't used it before we tell them it's one of those things that sounds really awesome until you actually use it because it's so inaccurate. Then, we generally get the head nod and go down the same path. Still no takes thus far. We really like talking about myscribbit.com though. That way we aren't saying no. They are deciding it isn't worth it.
  20. Hi Darren, I'd imagine that you wouldn't try to make sure both accounts are under the same re-seller at all. I'd think you would setup a "secret key", maybe use the existing API key value of an account. Then, when you "link" accounts the account exchange secret keys and have access to each other. At that point, they obviously have an affiliation so what does it matter if one is a CleaRing client and the other is a Slable client? As for call flows, I see that issue. I'd imaging you'd have a "feature code" for accessing another account. Like Account A would subscribe to AccountB#100 for a BLF to see BLF for ext 100 in account B. Of course, I say this as someone who's never even looked at your code and has a basic understanding of the architecture. And I get that. I see two separate use cases here. First is for a single company with multi-locations. For them, really it'd be mostly about using Smart PBX. Man oh man it's hard to convert someone from using Smart PBX to ADV callflows just because they add a location. They hate it. Second though is separate companies that want to be affiliated for some reason. For instance, I had three clients that shared adjoining suites. They relied on each other heavily and wanted to be able to page/intercom/ect so I put them into one account. Well, then they eventually split up and went their separate ways. Man that was rough. I've also had a virtual receptionist company approach me wanting a way to see status of their clients. It was really hard to see a multi-hundred handset account walk because I had no solution for that. But, oh well...
  21. I've been wanting this forever too. It'd be amazing if accounts could see eachother's BLFs and easily transfer to eachother. It would also resolve my bigges frustration with SmartPBX, that it doesn't support multi-location. We could just create separate accounts for all of them, then bridge them.  I don't know about you all, but I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is on this one. I wonder how much it'd take to get 2600hz to develop this...
  22. For what it's worth, I do this all the time with my Yealinks. You can setup an group in the directory for internal numbers. Then, assign a different ring tone to that group. If it's just a single user, maybe it would make sense to switch him? Sorry, I don't use the polycoms anymore, so I don't know if the VVX can do this.
  23. You should have it available to look at in your app exchange. Basically it allows individual users to see their call log, devices and voicemails all on one page. They can also enable or disable call forwarding for their phone from there.
  24. I'd really like to get official word on this. I keep hearing it both ways and It'd be really nice to know that I don't need to be walking on eggshells about using landline devices...
  25. It would be very helpful if there was a "Play Media" option in the SmartPBX call menu. Many of my clients want to give their customers an option to hear address, fax and business hours information. This is impossible to do with out going into advanced callflows. and I'm really trying to do most of my work in SmartPBX where possible.
